As of 31st December 1999, this site will be removed, this is due to a lack of response from the ISP with regard to CGI support etc. There is already a mirror site available at www.caledonia-net.co.uk all future updates to the Hail Caledonia site will appear there. This site will not be updated, but will remain here until the above date. Please visit the new site and update your bookmarks

Right here goes, this website is intended as a quick reference guide to Scottish History. Although I am no historian, I have had a fascination for Scottish History for a number of years and along with many people, feel that it is under-represented among the wider historical subjects. This is my small part, in an attempt to bring it to the fore, where if you study it, I am sure you will agree, it belongs.

As stated before, the intention is to show the history of Scotland in small paragraphs and pictures, I will freely admit to trawling the web, nicking pictures and ideas, if you feel I have infringed your copyright on any item within this site, please e-mail me and I am sure we can come to some sort of an agreement, wether it be a copyright acknowledgment, a link to your site or the removal of the piece in question.

This site is and will be for quite some time to come constantly updated, although there is not much to see at the moment, I am working on it every spare hour I get and it is growing all the time. However as you can appreciate it may take years before I finally get to the letter Z (nope, can't think of anything in Scottish History beginning with Z).

I hope you keep coming back to check for anything new, I'm sure you won't be disappointed.
